Samsung Launches Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra as Its Most Advanced Foldable Smartphone Yet

Samsung has officially expanded its foldable smartphone lineup by unveiling the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra during the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event in London. The new flagship introduces a thinner profile, upgraded hardware, and enhanced Galaxy AI capabilities aimed at productivity and content creation.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra features an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display and measures just 4.1 mm when unfolded, making it Samsung’s slimmest Fold device to date. Weighing 215 grams, the company says the phone is designed to improve portability without sacrificing durability. Samsung also introduced a redesigned hinge system and Flex Titanium technology to reduce the visibility of the display crease.

Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset, paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of internal storage. The smartphone is also equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery and a 200 MP primary camera, alongside ultra-wide and telephoto lenses for improved photography performance.

Samsung has placed a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence. New Galaxy AI features include intelligent multitasking, contextual assistance, real-time translation, writing support, and productivity tools optimized for the foldable display. According to the company, these features are designed to make large-screen mobile workflows faster and more intuitive.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is expected to be available in multiple global markets following the launch event. Industry analysts believe the device represents Samsung’s effort to strengthen its position in the premium foldable smartphone segment as competition in the category continues to grow.
